Description
Bridge Cam Gauge – PTA WG04
The Bridge Cam Gauge, also known as the Cambridge Gauge, is a precise and versatile inspection tool used by welders, inspectors, and fabrication professionals. It helps measure several critical weld dimensions quickly and accurately. Because of its compact design, the gauge works well in both workshop and field environments.
This gauge allows users to perform general linear measurements up to 50 mm (2 inches). In addition, it measures several important weld characteristics. These include fillet weld leg length, weld throat thickness, weld reinforcement height, and excess weld metal (capping size). Accurate measurement of these dimensions helps ensure welds meet engineering specifications and inspection standards.
The Bridge Cam Gauge also measures depth of undercut and depth of pitting, which are common defects found during weld inspection. By checking these dimensions early, inspectors can identify issues before they cause larger problems. As a result, the tool helps improve weld quality and reduce rework.
Another important function is its ability to measure the angle of preparation from 0° to 60°. This helps confirm that joint preparation matches the required welding procedure. In addition, the gauge can measure misalignment (high-low) between welded components. These checks help maintain correct fit-up and ensure proper weld penetration.
For added convenience, the gauge features dual measurement scales. One side displays imperial measurements in inches, while the other shows metric measurements in millimeters. This allows users to work easily with different drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
Each gauge is certified annually for accuracy, ensuring reliable measurements over time. The Bridge Cam Gauge also includes a protective pouch, which keeps the tool secure during storage and transport.
Because of its versatility and accuracy, the Bridge Cam Gauge is a valuable tool for weld inspection, fabrication, and quality control applications.
