This gauge checks the four essential measurements required for NRC visual weld acceptance. It measures undercut depth, crown height, porosity comparison, and porosity per linear inch using one compact tool. This saves time and removes the need for multiple gauges.
The scale allows accurate measurement of undercut depth and crown height up to 1/4 inch. The gauge reads in 1/32 inch increments, giving reliable detail when inspecting weld profiles. The crown height measurement scale reads in 1/64 inch increments, allowing precise evaluation of weld reinforcement. This accuracy helps inspectors verify weld quality against required standards.
The gauge also allows fast porosity comparison using 1/8 inch and 1/16 inch reference sizes. This feature makes visual inspection easier when assessing weld defects. The built-in linear scale in 1/16 inch increments helps determine the amount of porosity per linear inch of weld.
