The Binzel 700.0306 E3 purple tungsten electrodes suit both AC and DC TIG welding applications. ABICOR BINZEL developed the E3 range using rare earth mixed oxides to provide stable arc performance across a wide range of welding conditions.
E3 electrodes provide a safer alternative to traditional thoriated tungsten because they contain no radioactive thorium. They deliver strong welding performance without the handling concerns linked to thoriated electrodes.
These electrodes produce reliable ignition and maintain a smooth, stable arc during welding. Their lower operating temperature improves current carrying capacity and extends service life compared to many standard thoriated electrodes.
The E3 purple tungsten works on mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, nickel, copper, and magnesium alloys. It performs well in both manual and automated TIG welding applications.
The 1.6mm diameter suits lower to medium amperage TIG welding. It performs well on thinner materials, detailed fabrication, tube work, and applications where arc precision matters.
